The collection consists of a United States government land deed, dated Sept. 15, 1842, part of a cession in the Tallapoosa Land District from the Tim-po-che tribe of Creek Indians to the United States by a treaty of March 24, 1832. This deed includes land now in Russell County, Alabama, near Columbus, Georgia.
